PhilosophyOne of the main characteristics of Nuits-Saint-Georges’ wines lies in the great diversity of its terroirs, diversity that is found in the different styles of wines that vary greatly depending on where the grapes are grown. Based in Nuits-Saint-Georges, the House of Edouard Delaunay illustrates this multiplicity by offering several selections from Premier Cru climats located both north and south of the village.
TerroirThis Collection, signature of the House, brings together a selection of the 6 cuvées of Nuits-Saint-Georges, our village of heart. For this 2022 Edition, you will find:
Nuits-Saint-Georges Le Village 2021Gorgeous cherry red in colour. The expressive, fresh nose offers aromas of baked goods, such as a decadent raspberry and redcurrant tart, almond cookie, and stewed cherries. Wilder scents, typical of Nuits-Saint-Georges wines (basket willow, brambles, boxwood, juniper) then emerge. Subtle nuances of chalk and limestone. Fresh, mineral start to the palate.
Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Aux Argillas 2020Gorgeous, deep colour, almost black. The nose is intense and complex. Aromas of menthol, eucalyptus, forest develop with a nuance of tar. This is a rich, powerful wine with nice acidity that gives length and dense texture and boasts superb cellaring potential. It is both powerful and fresh, and will reveal all of its character after spending some time in the cellar.
Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Aux Murgers 2019Gorgeous deep red in colour with bluish tinges. The nose is superb and evocative of berries underpinned by balsamic notes of liquorice and mint with a touch of basil followed by spices. Lovely fresh start to the palate, which is rich and deep, boasting remarkable maturity. The ripe tannins are rather powerful and spicy and extremely pleasing. Excellent cellaring potential.
Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Crots 2020Elegant deep red, almost black, in colour with unctuous, velvety texture. The first nose is reminiscent of peat, after which follow aromas of dried herbs, thyme... Pure start to the palate featuring lovely sucrosity and refreshing acidity typical of this appellation. This wine is deep and pure, ripe yet mineral, almost stony, with pleasing acidity. Remarkable cellaring potential
Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Poulettes 2020Gorgeous deep red in colour, dense and intense in aspect. The first nose features delectable, generous aromas of red fruit coulis. These are complemented by pleasing floral and woody notes which are rounded out by elegant camphor-like scents. A rich, full-bodied start to the palate boasts remarkable concentration. The finish offers a great deal of character with notes of chocolate and cherry.
Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru Les Porrets-Saint-Georges "Cuvée Antide Midan" 2019 Gorgeous deep colour. Expressive, fruity nose of cherry and vanilla aromas reminiscent of pastries and sugared almonds. On the palate, notes of fruit and coulis are complemented by a rather firm structure that boasts a good balance between acidity and tannins that is very typical of the Premiers Crus from South of Nuits. A good wine for laying down with remarkable ageing potential.
