  • Philosophy Nuits-Saint-Georges, the village in which our head office is located, has a great deal of importance for us. The southern gateway to the great Côte de Nuits villages, Nuits-Saint-Georges produces wines that are extremely diverse. The terroirs north of the village, near Vosne-Romanée, are composed of deeper, clayey soils. They yield wines that are both generous and structured. The terroirs to the south are very stony, as testified to by the many quarries nearby. Here the wines are mineral, lively and bold. A good Nuits-Saint-Georges should integrate this duality that lends it its unique character and magnificent ageing potential.
  • Terroir Nuits-Saint-Georges is an iconic appellation in Burgundy. Its wines were even prescribed for Louis XIV in 1693 as a remedy for his ailments. The three plots for our cuvée are located at the foot of the slope, both north and south of the village, where the limestone soil is mixed with clay and marl. The typicity of the soil lends both finesse and minerality to the blend as well as power and richness. The vines’ southeastern exposure is ideal for optimal ripening of the grapes.
  • Vinification and ageingOur Nuits-Saint-Georges cuvée was crafted from a blend of wines hailing from different plots, all of which were vinified and aged separately. The grapes were handpicked and carefully sorted in the vineyards so that only the finest grapes were selected. We destemmed all the bunches. The wines are aged separately in oak barrels (35% new oak from the forests of Central France) for 16 months.
  • Tasting notesPretty raspberry red color. The nose reveals beautiful notes from the breeding, evoking tobacco, beech and a slight smoky side, enhanced by a fresh touch of menthol, chlorophyll and chervil. On the palate, the attack is round and dense, demonstrating a beautiful balance. We perceive gourmet nuances of chocolate and cherry. A hint of acidity emerges, bringing a fresh finish, while coated tannins structure the wine throughout the tasting. This wine, very straight without being austere, only asks to open up with time to reveal its full potential. To be decanted in its young years.
