- PhilosophyChambolle-Musigny wines are very rare; the Premier Crus are even more so. We are particularly proud and happy to be able to offer this exclusive cuvée that hails from this little-known though superior Premier Cru vineyard.
- TerroirOur cuvée is sourced from a plot located on the outskirts of the village of Chambolle-Musigny, along the famed Route des Grands Crus and adjacent to the Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru. The grapes for this cuvée grow on vines planted halfway up the slope; overlying the same rocky subsoil as is found in Bonnes-Mares. These moderately deep soils allow the wine to express both purity and elegance.
- Vinification and ageingVinification was carried out traditionally using handpicked grapes, 20% of which were left as whole bunches. Following 4 days of cold pre-fermen- tation maceration, fermentation began naturally under the influence of indigenous yeasts. Cuvaison lasted 21 days. Ageing lasted 14 months in barrels (50% new, fine-grained oak).
- Tasting notesGorgeous velvety red colour. Fine, subtle, very elegant nose featuring fruity aromas of peach and wild strawberry, f loral notes of peony, and a fresh hint of menthol and eucalyptus. Splendid start to the palate that is fresh and delicate, endowed with great finesse and lovely density. Notes of sugared almonds that lend a hint of sucrosity are complemented by woody nuances of cedar and a touch of cigar. Impressive maturity that already holds the promise of a great Burgundy. An exceptional Chambolle-Musigny.
