Bourgogne Côte d'Or Chardonnay White 2017

Bourgogne Côte d'Or Chardonnay Régionale - 2017

  • Philosophy The Bourgogne Côte d’Or appellation is a new appellation beginning with the 2017 vintage. It aims to offer the nobility of Burgundy’s regional appellations by using grapes that come exclusively from the finest terroirs in the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits, a philosophy the House of Edouard Delaunay fully supports.
  • Terroir The selected Chardonnay grapes for our cuvée originate in the Côte de Beaune (principally Auxey-Duresses and young vines in Meursault). The plots are managed so as to obtain ripe, flavourful grapes. Their concentration is augmented by the plots’ south-southeastern exposure.
  • Vinfication and ageing The grapes are handpicked before being sorted and pressed immediately. The must is allowed to settle in tanks before being vinified entirely in oak barrels (15% new oak) at low temperatures for 1 to 3 months. The ageing period that follows lasts approximately 12 months, during which the wine is stirred if and as needed.
  • Tasting notes This wine boast beautiful golden yellow colour. The nose is very fresh and ethereal with dominant aromas of peach, lemon and lemon verbena. On the palate, a saline note surfaces along with sensations of roundness and freshness of surprising complexity, finishing with a subtle touch of oak reminiscent of hazelnut. This wine brings together all of the characteristics the finest white Burgundies from the Côte de Beaune have to offer.
